Medical Abortion by Pill

The medical abortion by pill is a termination of pregnancy using two medications to induce a miscarriage.  This is done in the privacy of your own home.  You will have a consultation with the physician, where you will be given detailed instructions on how to take the pill, both verbally and written, and will take the first pill that starts the process in the office.  You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions as well.  

Pain and nausea medicine will be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.  If you would like birth control, this can be sent to your pharmacy as well.  

The pill can take up to 72 hours to complete and you will be scheduled for a mandatory follow-up in 2 weeks; this appointment is free of charge and extremely important to confirm the pills did their job.  You will have an ultrasound at this appointment to confirm the pills did their job.  The abortion pill does have a 5% failure rate, so follow up is so important.
